Our 27th annual Harvest Brunch and Raffle, held November 3, 2019, at the Irish Social Club in West Roxbury, welcomed friends for a delicious breakfast to raise money for Rosie’s Place, a shelter for poor and homeless women, the Rosie’s Place food pantry, the Roslindale Food Pantry, and camperships to send children from Boston facing poverty and homelessness to summer camp programs.
We were joined by special guests Angela Menino, Boston City Councilor-at-Large Annissa Essaibi-George, Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley, West Roxbury’s Lord Mayor Richie Gormley, family members of our beloved co-founders, Alice and Bill Hennessey, and Michael Oliver, Director of Fundraising at Rosie’s Place.
We are also grateful to all the generous members of the community who make our annual brunch possible: Irish Social Club of Boston, Wegmans, Local 338 Bagels & Coffee, Starbucks, and Henry’s Market. We also thank Anne Quinlan for giving us a lovely painting to include in our raffle, and our board members and friends, who provided other raffle prizes.
Congratulations and tremendous thanks to our Event Chair, WRFORP Board Member Alicia O’Brien, to all who contributed and volunteered (including our Rosebuddies), and to everyone who turned out to enjoy good friends and food, and to support a great cause. We couldn’t do this without you, and we hope we’ll see you again at our Spring Community Dinner in a few months!
