Harvest Un-Brunch & Raffle Grand Prize Winner

West Roxbury Friends of Rosie’s Place thanks all our supporters for another successful Harvest Un-Brunch and Raffle.

The drawing for the raffle was on Sunday, November 6th, and we congratulate Kathryn Dunlop, who is this year’s grand prize winner.

Thanks to Chef Courtney Beerman, owner of The Pearl Plates, Kathryn and her family have a tasty gourmet brunch for four to look forward to! In addition, thirteen other supporters won gift cards to favorite local restaurants and businesses.

Your participation in the Harvest Un-Brunch and Raffle helps to fight food insecurity close to home. It also sponsors children’s participation in activities in the Boston area that support their wellbeing and mental health.

Since 1981, WRFORP have served Boston families in need. Thanks for your generosity. Together, we make a difference!

Campership Drive Brings in Over $5000

Thank you to everyone who donated to WRFORP’s April-May campership fundraiser. We are happy to report that the fundraiser brought in more than $5000 to provide a summer camp respite for local Boston children who are experiencing stressful circumstances.

We can’t think of a better way to help children who have been dealing with COVID and other serious issues this year than by providing them with the opportunity to be in a playful environment as part of a nurturing camp program. We’re glad you agree!

Your support acknowledges the important work done by camp programs like Siblings Connections Camp, Children of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (COASA), Parkway Community YMCA Camp Programs, and Sunset Point Camp.

Thank you for all you do to support children in our community.

Thanks to all who came to our Block Party on September 18th

Our thanks to everyone who turned out for our Thank You Block Party on Saturday, September 18, 2021. A lovely time was had by all!

We were so happy to have the opportunity to reconnect in person with longtime and new supporters on Park Street where it all started 40 years ago.

Michael Oliver, Director of Fundraising for Rosie’s Place, came with his pup, Frodo, and shared how they are helping women and hungry families through the challenges of COVID.

And Ruthzee Louijeune, candidate for Boston City Council At-Large, closed out the celebration with us.

Again, THANK YOU for all you have done to support the Boston women, children, and families we serve together.

We are looking forward to hosting another Virtual Harvest Brunch in November, so be on the lookout for messages from us about great raffle prizes and how to get a ticket.

With gratitude,
WRFORP Board
