Neighbors share fun – and share with others – at our 17th Annual Spring Community Dinner

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us and contributed so generously to our 17th Annual Spring Community Dinner and Fundraiser on April 6, 2019 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in West Roxbury.

Crowd

Attended by over 250 guests, our annual spring dinner benefits Rosie’s Place, a sanctuary for poor and homeless women; the Roslindale Food Pantry; and summer camperships for children in need.

Beth Germano of WBZ-TV was our spectacular MC, and music for dining and dancing from DJ Patrick McIntyre of MCO Productions Brighton, who partially underwrote his services, added to the fun of the evening.

Rosie’s Place Director of Communications, Michele Chausse, thanked our guests, and we were happy as always for the consistent support and presence of City Councilor At-Large Annissa Essaibi George and District 6 City Councilor Matt O’Malley, who also made a special presentation on behalf of the Boston City Council honoring our graduating Rosebuddies.

Rosebuddies

We are very grateful to Rockland Trust, Gold Sponsor for this and all of our events.  And thanks to Eastern Bank, our Campership Sponsor, and Brookline Bank, our Rosie’s Place Dinner Sponsor!

We want to express our sincere thanks to all the individuals and businesses whose Dessertgenerous donations made the evening possible: Eileen Saliba, Gourmet Caterers, Roche Bros. Supermarkets, Dancing Deer Baking Co.Blanchards Wine & Spirits, and Henry’s Market. And, of course, our team of expert cookie bakers!

Gift certificates, gift baskets, sports items, scratch lottery tickets, and more – all donated by local individuals, organizations, and businesses – were raffled during silent and live auctions.  (See the full list of generous donors in our event program.)

The event’s success is due in large part to the support of the St. George church community and Pastor Father Timothy Ferguson, who have hosted us for many years in their lovely space, and spacious kitchen!

And our Board members and many volunteers worked tirelessly before and during the dinner to ensure it was a wonderful evening for everyone.
