The Substation Fundraiser—Thanks to All

West Roxbury Friends of Rosie’s Place wants to give a big, heartfelt thank you to the many longtime and new supporters who joined us on Monday, June 9th, at The Substation in Roslindale for a fun time and a very successful fundraiser to benefit Rosie’s Place and the Roslindale Food Pantry.

Special thanks to The Substation for hosting our event. This was our first fundraiser in The Substation’s historic, but uniquely contemporary, event space and beer hall. After quenching their thirst at the full bar, hungry supporters satisfied their appetite with pizza and other finger foods provided by Wegmans and Seasons Catering.

The multi-generational crowd, from babies to octogenarians, added to the festive atmosphere. Thanks to everyone for their generosity and participation in the fundraiser’s raffle. Lucky winners took home gift cards and items donated by local businesses and friends:
Russ & Mimi’s
Mi Finca
Avery & co
Birch St. House & Garden
Create Art in Community
The Square Root
Super Flash T-Shirts
and Boston Red Sox items and tickets, to name just a few.

Local artists,  Zara Woodhead and Amanda Casarjian added sparkle to the raffle table with their creative donations.

Thanks to your participation, and the generosity of our corporate donors, Roche Bros. Supermarkets and Brookline Bank,, we met our goal to raise more than last year, and importantly, are again able to help our food insecure neighbors.

With appreciation,
WRFORP Board

Because of your concern and generosity, we raised over $6000 so that local children living in stressful situations will have the opportunity to have fun in caring summer camp programs including Sibling ConnectionsCOASAParkway Community YMCA, and Sunset Point Camp.

This is a team effort. In addition to individuals, we also thank our generous corporate donors: Enbridge Inc.Roche Bros. SupermarketsRockland Trust, and Wegmans.
